Blade Runner 4K Screening

Band Pro presented a free 4K screening of Blade Runner (The Final Cut) at the Dolby Vine Theater in Hollywood on Tuesday May 29th, 2018.

Released in 1982, Blade Runner paired director Ridley Scott with cinematographer Jordan Cronenweth, ASC to create one of the most critically acclaimed science fiction films ever made. Shot in both 65mm and full height anamorphic, Blade Runner remains a stunning achievement that continues to inspire filmmakers to this day.

Unfortunately Jeff Cronenweth, ASC, (son of Blade Runner DP Jordan Cronenweth) was unable to attend due to a last minute booking, but a great time was had by all nevertheless.

Senior Technical Consultant Randy Wedick screened Band Pro's new 4K HDR short film TOKYO DANCE and did a brief Q&A with Production Hub's Mike Valinsky.  Dolby also gave a short presentation highlighting the capabilities of Dolby Vision HDR projection.

Suffice to say that the 4K DCP of Blade Runner (The Final Cut) looked and sounded amazing.  A full house was treated to a pristine projection of this much-beloved sci fi classic.
